PM Modi to Unveil Rs 13,480 Crore Development Package for Bihar During Madhubani Visit Tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil over Rs 13,480 crore worth of development projects and flag off new rail services in Bihar during his visit to Madhubani on Thursday, with a focus on infrastructure, rural housing, and women’s empowerment.

Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhubani tomorrow, where he is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a series of development projects worth over Rs 13,480 crore, spanning energy, railways, infrastructure, and rural housing. The visit will also include the launch of multiple railway services, including the Amrit Bharat Express and NaMo Bharat Rapid Rail in Bihar.

The Prime Minister will attend a public event to mark National Panchayati Raj Day, during which he will confer the National Panchayat Awards to high-performing local bodies and unveil a wide-ranging development package for the state.

A major highlight of the visit is the laying of the foundation stone for an LPG bottling plant with rail unloading facilities in Hathua, Gopalganj, at a cost of Rs 340 crore, aimed at streamlining LPG logistics and strengthening Bihar’s energy supply chain.

In the power sector, PM Modi will launch projects worth over Rs 1,170 crore and inaugurate works valued at more than Rs 5,030 crore, all under the Restructured Distribution Sector Scheme, to improve electricity access and reliability in the state.

The day will also witness a flurry of rail infrastructure announcements, including the flagging off of the Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai, the NaMo Bharat Rapid Rail between Jaynagar and Patna, and services between Pipra and Saharsa and Saharsa and Samastipur. In addition, PM Modi will inaugurate the Supaul–Pipra and Hasanpur–Bithan rail lines, dedicate the Khagaria–Alauliya line to the nation, and open two rail overbridges in Chhapra and Bagaha.

In a push for rural development and women’s empowerment, PM Modi will distribute Rs 930 crore under the Community Investment Fund to 2 lakh self-help groups in Bihar, as part of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).

Housing will also feature prominently in the agenda. The Prime Minister will hand over acceptance letters to 15 lakh new beneficiaries of PMAY-Gramin, release installments to 10 lakh PMAY-G beneficiaries, and participate in the Griha Pravesh ceremony for 1 lakh PMAY-G and 54,000 PMAY-Urban households in Bihar.

This high-profile visit, PM Modi’s first to Bihar following the Pahalgam terror attack, is being seen as a major pre-election push, bringing together announcements on infrastructure, energy, railways, and grassroots welfare.
