Patna: As the city gears up for the grand celebration of Chhath Puja, extensive preparations are underway to ensure a seamless and picturesque experience for devotees.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) is employing the innovative ‘Ganga Yaan’ trash skimmer machine to clean the waters of the Ganga along the Chhath Ghats, complementing the ongoing construction, barricading, and beautification efforts.

Also, entry gates are being erected at all ghats for the first time. These ghats will be transformed into ‘Chakachak Ghats,’ adorned with vibrant flowers, enchanting lighting, and special decorations. The initiative, spanning from Digha Pati Pul to Kangan Ghat, aims to provide devotees with special facilities during the auspicious Chhath Puja.

In the Patliputra area, dedicated entry gates will grace Digha PatiPul Ghat, Ghat number- 93, and Ghat number- 88. A specially designed entrance is also in the works for LCT Ghat and Marine Drive near AN Sinha Institute of Social Sciences. In the Bankipur area, a distinctive entry gate near NIT is being constructed, and Gai Ghat, Bhadra Ghat, and Kangan Ghat are being transformed into Chakachak Ghats. The roundabout on JP Ganga Path will also undergo a visual makeover with special lighting arrangements.

PMC has introduced large balloons inscribed with the names of the ghats along the Chakachak Ghats

Adding a captivating touch to the preparations, the PMC has introduced large balloons inscribed with the names of the ghats along the Chakachak Ghats, visible from a distance. This initiative, aimed at facilitating the identification of ghats from afar, aligns with the commitment to ensuring convenience for the common people.

To address any concerns or issues that may arise during the Chhath festival, the PMC is establishing a dedicated ‘Chakachak Control Room’ at all ghats. This facility will serve as a point of contact for the public, allowing them to communicate with Municipal Corporation representatives regarding problems or complaints, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable Chhath Puja for all.
