PMC Launches Post-Holi Cleanliness Drive in Patna Ahead of Swachh Survekshan 2024

Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has intensified its efforts to improve the city’s ranking in Swachh Survekshan 2024 with a special cleanliness campaign following Holi. The initiative includes large-scale cleaning operations across all wards, with roads and public spaces being swept using mechanized sweepers and washed at night. The campaign is being closely monitored, with inspections led by the municipal commissioner set to begin on Monday night.
Recognising Contributions to a Cleaner City
In a bid to encourage civic participation, PMC has announced that individuals and committee members actively contributing to the city’s cleanliness will be honored. Notably, 650 garbage vulnerable points (GVPs) have been eliminated with public cooperation, and local monitoring committees have played a key role in maintaining cleanliness.
Citywide Campaign Across 375 Sectors
The cleanliness drive will be implemented across all 375 sectors under PMC’s jurisdiction, with each program led by the respective ward councillor. The municipal commissioner has issued directives to all executive officers to ensure effective execution of the campaign.
