PMC Prepares 13 Ghats as Chakachak Ghats in Patna
Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has claimed to have made comprehensive preparations for the much-anticipated four-day Chhath festival, kicking off with the Nahay Khay rituals on Friday. The city’s ghats have undergone extensive construction, barricading, contact road development, and cleaning, along with the addition of entry gates for the first time.
To enhance the festive atmosphere, the ghats have been transformed into ‘Chakachak Ghats’ adorned with vibrant flowers, captivating lighting, and unique decorations, aiming to provide devotees with special facilities.
In an innovative move, the PMC has introduced special selfie points on 13 model ghats featuring the slogan ‘I Love Chakachak Patna.’ This initiative allows common people to capture memorable moments during the Chhath Mahaparva celebrations. Notably, this marks the first instance of such an experiment on the Ganga ghats.
The following ghats have been declared as ‘Chakachak Ghats’:
- Digha Patipul Ghat
- Minar Ghat
- Ghat number- 93
- Ghat number- 88
- Ghat number 83
- Collectorate Ghat
- Mahendru Ghat
- Kali Ghat
- NIT Ghat
- Law College Ghat
- Gai Ghat
- Bhadra Ghat
- Kangan Ghat
To make the identification of ghats convenient from a distance, PMC has installed large balloons on ‘Chakachak Ghats’ featuring the names of the respective ghats. This initiative ensures that city residents can easily spot the adorned ghats from afar, enhancing the visual appeal of the Chhath festival.
In an effort to address any issues faced by the public during the festival, the PMC has established ‘Chakachak control rooms’ at all ghats. These control rooms serve as a point of contact for common people to reach out to PMC employees for problem resolution and lodging complaints.
As Patna gears up for the Chhath festival, these initiatives by the PMC aim to not only ensure the smooth conduct of rituals but also add a vibrant and welcoming touch to the city’s ghats, making the celebration a memorable experience for residents and devotees alike.
