PMCH Under Scrutiny: FIR Lodged Over Alleged Assault on YouTuber Manish Kashyap

Patna: An FIR has been lodged against unknown doctors and personnel of Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) following allegations that popular YouTuber Manish Kashyap was assaulted on the hospital premises. The complaint was filed at the Pirbahor police station in Patna.

The case (No. 417/2025) was registered based on an application submitted by Journalist Association President Mohan Tiwari (Faridabad). Pirbahor police station in-charge Abdul Haleem confirmed the registration of the case and stated that investigations are underway, though attempts to reach Manish Kashyap have been unsuccessful.

Incident Details and Allegations

The alleged incident occurred despite Kashyap reportedly having initially refused to file a complaint on the day of the event, and even issuing an apology from the Pirbahor Police Outpost (TOP).

According to accounts, doctors at PMCH allegedly attempted to drag Kashyap from the campus towards the hostel. Police personnel from the TOP, located within the PMCH campus, intervened. Kashyap was then taken to the TOP, where a crowd of junior doctors reportedly gathered. Kashyap and his supporters were held in this situation for approximately three hours.

Kashyap’s Account of Being “Held Hostage”

After the alleged assault, Kashyap was admitted to the hospital. Upon discharge, he recounted his ordeal, stating, “The junior doctor there held me hostage for 2.30 to 3 hours. The guards and bodyguards did not misbehave with me. These people are mostly retired army personnel. These people do not misbehave with me.” He also claimed, “I was made to sign a paper there. I do not know what was written in the paper.”

Kashyap further stated that police from Peerbahor police station arrived and spoke with those involved. Some of his associates who arrived with the police were reportedly denied entry. Following discussions, he was eventually escorted out of the premises.
