Patna: Punjab National Bank (PNB) has announced that it will close all savings accounts that have not been used for over three years and have zero balance. This action will start from July 20, 2025.
The bank said that this step is being taken to prevent the misuse of dormant accounts and to reduce security risks. Customers whose accounts have had no activity till April 30, 2025, and have no money in them, must visit their branch and complete their Know Your Customer (KYC) process before July 19.
If these customers do not take action by the deadline, their accounts will be closed without any further notice. The bank has clearly stated that this will apply only to accounts with no transactions for more than three years and no money in them.
PNB has advised customers to act quickly to avoid any interruption in their banking services. By updating KYC and reactivating their accounts, they can continue to use all banking facilities smoothly.
