
Patna: Police have raided an illegal lottery and gambling den in Mahadev Fulwari under Bihta police station area of Patna. The raid took place late on Friday night after police received secret information about gambling activities being run there. During the raid, police arrested one accused and seized 12 motorcycles and Rs 18,800 in cash from the spot.
The arrested man has been identified as Chhotu, also known as Chhotu Singh, who is a resident of Bishanpura village. Police said that the gambling centre was being run in a temporary house with a tin roof in Mahadev Fulwari. As soon as police reached, many people present at the gambling den managed to run away.
The raid was led by Bihta police station SHO Shashi Kumar Rana. Police said they had been receiving information about this illegal activity for a long time. A special team was formed to carry out the raid and cordon off the area to catch the accused involved.
All 12 seized motorcycles have been brought to the police station, and their ownership is being checked. Police are now searching for the other people who escaped during the raid. SHO Rana said that strict action will continue against illegal gambling and lottery businesses in the area and no one involved will be spared.
