POPSK Inaugurated in Raj Nagar, Madhubani to Enhance Passport Services

Madhubani: The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, has inaugurated a Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) in Raj Nagar, Madhubani district, Bihar, under the Regional Passport Office, Patna. This initiative coincides with the celebration of Bihar Diwas and aims to improve passport services for residents of Jhanjharpur Lok Sabha constituency and nearby regions.POPSK Inaugurated in Raj Nagar, Madhubani to Enhance Passport Services

 

This POPSK, the 445th in India, is set up in the Sub Post Office of Raj Nagar and will provide a range of passport-related services, including new passport applications, renewals, and Police Clearance Certificates (PCC). The facility will offer 40 passport appointment slots and 5 PCC slots daily. Applicants can schedule their appointments online through the official website www.passportindia.gov.in.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Rampreet Mandal, Member of Parliament from Jhanjharpur, and Arun Shankar Prasad, Member of Legislative Assembly from Khajauli. Also present were Dr. K. J. Srinivasa, Joint Secretary (PSP) and Chief Passport Officer in the Ministry of External Affairs, Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer, Patna, officials from RPO Patna, Manoj Kumar, Post Master General of Eastern Region, and representatives from Tata Consultancy Services.

The opening of POPSK Raj Nagar reflects the government’s commitment to citizen-centric governance by making passport services more accessible. This initiative will greatly benefit the people of Jhanjharpur, especially those in remote areas, by ensuring efficient and transparent passport-related assistance, reinforcing the objective of last-mile connectivity.
