PATNA: As the festive celebrations of Durga Puja concluded, the Patna Municipal Corporation has launched a comprehensive cleanliness drive to address the litter and debris left behind. While special cleanliness initiatives are ongoing around pandals and streets, a notable focus has been placed on thorough cleaning at prominent locations such as Gandhi Maidan and the Ganga Ghats.

Cleaning Efforts on Seven Temporary Ghats

The immersion of Goddess Durga’s idols necessitated the construction of temporary ghats in various parts of the city. After the immersions at ghats like Patliputra, Law College Ghat, Bhadra Ghat, Kangna Ghat, and others, intensive cleaning drives are being executed. In addition to post-immersion cleanups, night shifts of workers were deployed to maintain the ghats’ cleanliness.

Citywide Inspection by Municipal Commissioner

Municipal Commissioner Animish Kumar Parashar, along with Additional Municipal Commissioner Sheela Irani, Executive Officer Patliputra Pratibha Sinha, and Executive Engineer, supervised the JP Ganga Path, Digha Pul, LCT Ghat, and Collectorate Ghat for inspection and cleanliness monitoring.

Plans for Ghats Reconstruction

Simultaneously, during the inspections, the Municipal Commissioner directed immediate repair and reconstruction work for the affected ghats to ensure they are well-maintained and ready for future religious events.
