Prashant Kishor Announces ‘Bihar Badlaav Yatra’ from JP’s Birthplace Sitab Diara

Jamui: Jan Suraj leader and political strategist Prashant Kishor sharpened his attack on both the Centre and the Bihar government on Friday during a press conference in Jamui, where he announced the launch of the ‘Bihar Badlaav Yatra’ — a mass mobilisation campaign aimed at overhauling Bihar’s political system.
Set to begin on May 20 from Sitab Diara in Saran district, the birthplace of social icon, Jayaprakash Narayan, Kishor said the yatra would mark the start of a movement to realise JP’s “unfinished dream” of systemic change in Bihar. “This is not just another political tour — it is a call for total revolution,” he declared.
Taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bihar, Kishor criticised the government for announcing a few railway line upgrades and new trains, while investing over Rs 1 lakh crore in Gujarat’s bullet train. “Bihar’s youth don’t just need trains to leave — they need factories to stay,” he said. “Why can’t a GIFT city be built here?”
In a scathing personal attack, Kishor also targeted Minister Ashok Chaudhary, alleging that he “bought” his daughter a Member of Parliament ticket. “People like Ashok Chaudhary should not question where Jan Suraj’s funds come from,” Kishor said. “We aren’t MLAs or MPs, we don’t deal with sand or liquor mafias. Every rupee is earned through our own work and spent for the poor of Bihar.”
The announcement of the Bihar Badlaav Yatra comes as part of the ongoing Jan Suraj Udghosh Yatra, Kishor’s state-wide political outreach that has seen public meetings, village visits, and pointed criticism of Bihar’s governance model under successive regimes.
