Prashant Kishor Predicts NDA’s Sweep in Lok Sabha Elections, Forecasts Challenges for Nitish Kumar’s Party in Bihar Assembly Polls
Begusarai: Former poll strategist and Jan Suraj campaign convenor Prashant Kishor made bold assertions on Monday, forecasting a comprehensive victory for the BJP-led NDA alliance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with Narendra Modi returning as Prime Minister. Kishor, known for his strategic political acumen, made these claims during his ongoing Padyatra in Begusarai.
In addition to his predictions for the national elections, Kishor turned his attention to the state’s political landscape, particularly the assembly elections in Bihar scheduled for 2025. He projected that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party would struggle to secure more than 20 out of the 243 seats in the state assembly.
The recent political upheaval in Bihar, marked by Nitish’s departure from the Grand Alliance government and his subsequent alliance with the NDA, has sparked widespread speculation about its potential impact on both the looming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Kishor, offering his perspective on this transformative period, shared valuable insights into the evolving political dynamics.
Kishor, emphasizing the potential repercussions of the realignment, predicted that the BJP and its allied parties might face challenges in the upcoming assembly elections. He raised critical questions about the BJP’s decision-making, particularly regarding Nitish’s tenure in 2020 when the party did not appoint him as Chief Minister despite having a significant legislative presence.
Recalling his earlier statement that Nitish would have struggled to secure even five seats within the Grand Alliance during the Lok Sabha elections, Kishor maintained that his foresight remains relevant. He underscored that Nitish’s strategic move to align with the NDA indicates an awareness that the Grand Alliance might not yield favorable outcomes.
