Patna: Prashant Kishore, the convenor of the Jan Suraj campaign, has announced that his movement will transform into a political party, named the Jan Suraj Party, on October 2. Addressing district organization officials at Gyan Bhavan in Patna on Sunday, Kishore expressed confidence that the new party will independently secure a victory in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

The Jan Suraj Padyatra Abhiyan, launched by Kishore from Bhitiharwa Gandhi Ashram in Champaran on October 2, 2022, is slated for completion by September. Kishore revealed that Jan Suraj plans to distribute election tickets and organizational roles based on population representation. The party intends to contest all 243 assembly seats independently, with a commitment to field 40 female candidates.
