Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday joined the chorus of criticism against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his “vulgar” remarks concerning women while explaining the advantages of family planning. During a public address in Madhya Pradesh, slated for upcoming elections later this month, PM Modi launched a scathing attack on Nitish.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said, “A leader who has been traversing the nation under the banner of the INDI alliance and devising various strategies to overthrow the central government has made a disgraceful statement in the Vidhan Sabha, one that tarnishes the honor of our mothers and sisters. The explicit words used by this leader in the presence of female members of the Assembly are beyond imagination. He has no sense of shame, and none of the other INDI alliance leaders have condemned such derogatory language.”

In a bid to critique the opposition alliance and appeal to female voters, PM Modi asserted, “The INDI Alliance cannot safeguard the dignity and integrity of women. To what extent will they descend? I want to assure my mothers and sisters here that I will unwaveringly protect your dignity and honor.”

Protests against Nitish Kumar have erupted in various parts of the country, with the ANI news agency sharing images of a gathering outside Bihar Bhawan in Delhi, where demonstrators displayed placards and effigies of the Bihar Chief Minister.
