Priya Jaiswal Tops Bihar Board Science Stream, Says She Couldn’t Believe It at First

West Champaran / Patna : Priya Jaiswal from West Champaran, who topped the Science stream in the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Intermediate Examination 2025, was in disbelief when she first received the news. “I was in the market when I got a call saying I had topped. At first, I thought there might be many Priyas in Bihar, but when I was told my full name, I finally believed it,” she said.

Priya secured an impressive 484 marks out of 500. Reflecting on her success, she credited her achievement to her hard work, family support, and guidance from her teachers. “I had worked hard, but I didn’t expect to top. My sister stayed up with me at night, helping me study. I focused a lot on writing things down, which helped me remember better. I want to become a doctor, and my father has always supported that dream,” she added.

Girls Dominate Bihar Board Results

The Bihar Board results this year highlighted the exceptional performance of girls, who topped all three streams—Science, Arts, and Commerce. In the Arts stream, Ankita Kumari and Shakib Shah from Vaishali shared the top position, while in Commerce, Roshni Kumari, also from Vaishali, secured the highest marks with 475 out of 500.

Slight Decline in Overall Pass Percentage

The BSEB announced the results in the presence of Education Minister Sunil Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Dr S. Siddharth, and Board Chairman Anand Kishore. Of the 12.80 lakh students who appeared in the examination, 11,07,330 passed, bringing the overall pass percentage to 86.5%—a slight dip from last year’s 87.21%.
