Public Grievance System for Roads and Bridges to be Launched in Bihar Soon: Deputy CM
Patna: The Deputy Chief Minister cum Road Construction Minister, Vijay Sinha, on Tuesday announced that the general public will now be involved in ensuring the quality maintenance of roads and bridges in Bihar through a new public grievance redressal system. This system, developed by the Road Construction Department, aims to address complaints related to road and bridge conditions swiftly and efficiently.
In a presentation given by the Special Secretary of the Road Construction Department, Shirshat Kapil Ashok, and other officials, the plan was reviewed and approved by the Deputy Chief Minister. The system will enable any person to lodge complaints about damaged roads or bridges, which will then be forwarded directly to the concerned contractor, junior engineer, assistant engineer, and executive engineer responsible for maintenance.
The deputy CM emphasized that the repair work must be completed within a specified timeframe. A dedicated mobile number will also be issued for complaints, where people can send details and pictures through WhatsApp, ensuring transparency and timely action.
The department will monitor the complaints weekly to ensure swift resolution. Sinha reiterated that providing safe and smooth roads for the public is a priority, and necessary steps will be taken to repair the damaged roads in flood-affected areas of North Bihar as the water recedes.
