PWC’s ‘City Shades’: Photo Exhibition Highlights Patna’s Diversity
Patna: The Department of Communicative English and Media Studies at Patna Women’s College (PWC) showcased the city’s multifaceted essence through the lens of its semester VI students in a captivating photo exhibition titled ‘CEMIMAGES 2024’. The event, held on Friday, offered a visual narrative of Patna’s urban tapestry under the overarching theme of ‘City Shades’.
Each photograph displayed at the exhibition served as a window into the diverse facets of the city, capturing its essence in various hues and tones. Segmented into sections, the exhibition delved into distinct aspects of Patna’s landscape as seen through the eyes of the budding photographers.
One section, titled ‘The Holy Lights’, captured the ethereal glow of flickering flames along the sacred river Ganga, offering a poignant reflection on the spiritual significance ingrained in the city’s riverside rituals. ‘Her work, her strength’ celebrated women empowerment, showcasing the resilience and vitality of women in Patna’s social fabric.
‘Nature’s Canvas’ transported viewers to the outskirts of Patna, where the beauty of natural landscapes unfolded in vivid detail, serving as a reminder of the city’s symbiotic relationship with its surrounding environment. Meanwhile, ‘Reality Bites’ provided a striking visual commentary on the omnipresence of technology in modern urban life, highlighting its impact on daily existence.
A notable sub-section titled “Ruins Of Nalanda” offered a historical perspective, featuring images captured by students during a field trip to the ancient archaeological site. These photographs provided a glimpse into Patna’s rich cultural heritage, juxtaposing the city’s contemporary landscape with echoes of its storied past.
Dr. Tauseef Hassan, Head of the Department of CEMS, and esteemed faculty members Prashant Ravi and Runa, played instrumental roles in guiding the students throughout the exhibition’s conception and execution, offering their expertise in selecting the photographs and crafting insightful captions.
