Patna: The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board, Satish Kumar, conducted a window trailing inspection of the Rajendranagar Terminal–Rajendrapul–Karpurigram–Bapudham Motihari railway section on Thursday. The inspection focused on safety measures, monsoon precautions, signal visibility, track maintenance, proper ballasting, track screening, overhead traction, alignment and fittings across the section. He was accompanied by General Manager Chhatrasal Singh and other senior railway officials.
During the visit, Satish Kumar first reviewed the under-construction terminal platforms at Harding Park near Patna Junction. The five new platforms are expected to ease congestion at Patna Junction, improving train scheduling and turnaround times while boosting operational efficiency. The new terminal will offer underground connectivity to the under-construction metro rail, road networks and a newly built multi-modal hub.
At Rajendranagar Terminal, the Railway Board chief inspected the circulating area, platforms and passenger amenities before proceeding to Rajendrapul station, where he reviewed progress on the new bridge being built parallel to the Mokama Bridge over the Ganga river.
He also visited Karpurigram station, inspecting passenger facilities, the foot over bridge, platforms, circulating area and goods shed, and took stock of the development works underway.
Divisional Railway Managers Jayant Kumar Chaudhary (Danapur), Vivek Bhushan Sood (Sonpur) and Vinay Srivastava (Samastipur) joined Satish Kumar during the inspection in their respective jurisdictions.
