Railway Cracks Down on Stone Pelters Targeting Maha Kumbh Trains, Two Arrested
Madhubani: The railway has initiated action against those involved in stone pelting on trains heading to Maha Kumbh. Senior railway officials have ordered the arrest of the accused and directed them to compensate for the damage. In this connection, two individuals have been arrested for pelting stones at a train at Madhubani railway station.
On February 10, the Swatantrata Senani Express, traveling to Delhi via Prayagraj, reached Madhubani station. The train was already overcrowded with passengers. Frustrated at being unable to board, a group of people traveling to Maha Kumbh attempted to force open the doors. When they failed, they resorted to pelting stones and breaking the train’s window glass.
The situation was brought under control after the intervention of the Railway Protection Force present at the station. The train continued its journey, and upon reaching Samastipur railway station, passengers lodged a complaint. Following the complaint, the RPF detained two individuals for their involvement in the Madhubani incident.
Passengers seated inside the AC coach narrowly escaped injuries. The stone pelting shattered a window, causing glass shards to fall inside the coach. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt, but officials stated that the situation could have been much worse if glass pieces had injured passengers.
