Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visits New Delhi Railway Station to See Chhath arrangements
New Delhi: The Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, conducted a thorough inspection of Chhath Puja arrangements at the New Delhi railway station on Thursday. Accompanied by Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager of Northern Railway, Sukhwinder Singh, DRM Delhi Division, and other senior railway officials, the minister engaged with passengers and evaluated the various preparations in place.
During his visit, Minister Ashwini interacted with passengers on trains and those standing on the platforms. He meticulously examined the arrangements at the passenger holding area, booking counter, and security setups. His inspection extended to the mini control setup at platform number 16, where he emphasized the need for comprehensive efforts to ensure the utmost comfort for the traveling public.
The railways minister stressed the importance of replicating these efforts for passengers traveling in the reverse direction, underscoring the commitment to providing a seamless travel experience for all.
In a statement issued on Thursday evening, Indian Railways claimed that a number of festival trains have been introduced to facilitate the convenience of passengers during the Chhath festival. This initiative enables passengers from Delhi and surrounding areas to reach their homes in a timely manner, allowing them to partake in the Chhath festivities with their families.
The Minister highlighted the significance of this service, especially for passengers looking to join their families for the revered Nahay Khay and Kharna ceremonies, integral to the Chhath festival celebrations.
