Bihar’s upcoming international cricket stadium in Rajgir is almost finished, with matches expected to begin in just two months.

Patna: The construction of a world-class cricket stadium in Rajgir is moving ahead at full speed, and officials say it will be ready in the next two months. A meeting was held on Monday at the stadium site by Kumar Ravi, Secretary of the Building Construction Department, to check on the progress. Senior officials, engineers, and the construction agency attended the meeting and shared updates about the project.

The agency in charge of the work explained that six cricket pitches made from red soil have already been built, and grass has been laid on them. Another seven pitches, made with black soil brought from Mokama, are also being prepared. Grass-laying on those is underway. The main pavilion is now complete, and other parts of the stadium, like the east and west stands and the reverse pavilion, are quickly being finished.

The stadium will meet international standards and will have modern features like tall floodlights, electronic scoreboards, sound systems, water supply, fire safety equipment, and drainage to handle rainwater. The field is being covered with grass, and all finishing work is being carried out with speed and care. Officials have been told to stick to the deadline and make sure all work is done properly without any delay.

The stadium is being built on a 72,843 square metre area and will be able to seat 40,000 spectators. It will have special seating areas for players, coaches, managers, and VIP guests. Once complete, the Rajgir stadium will be ready to host national and international cricket matches. It will also give local players better training and facilities, making it an important project for the future of cricket in Bihar.
