Rajiv Pratap Rudy Files Nomination for Saran Lok Sabha Seat Amidst Rallying BJP Support

Chhapra: Rajiv Pratap Rudy, the incumbent Member of Parliament from Saran and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, formally lodged his nomination on Thursday  for the upcoming electoral contest. Following the nomination rituals, a grand public assembly convened at the Rajendra Stadium, drawing the presence of prominent leaders including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP stalwart Ravi Shankar Prasad, and Syed Shahnawaz Hussain.

Amidst the spirited gathering, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh lauded Rudy’s prowess, metaphorically remarking, “Rajiv Pratap Rudy is a skilled pilot; I am sure he will blow everyone else into the air.” Singh reiterated the populace’s trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assurances while cautioning against a regression to the “lantern era” in Bihar, alluding to the political legacy of the opposition.

Responding to the mounting electoral rhetoric, Rudy asserted his dedication to his constituency, subtly rebuffing opposition critiques. “Those who arrived in Chapra just five days ago, how can they gauge my five years of service?” Rudy questioned, countering insinuations made by his opponents. While refraining from direct confrontation, he underscored the BJP’s overarching ideological battle against the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its leader, Lalu Prasad.

Prior to the nomination proceedings, Rudy, accompanied by his family, undertook the formalities at the collectorate, symbolizing the commencement of his electoral journey. A ceremonial puja at his residence preceded his departure for the nomination, evoking traditional sentiments amidst the modern political spectacle. Subsequently, a spirited roadshow unfolded, further amplifying the electoral fervor surrounding Rudy’s candidacy.

In a strategic move, the RJD has pitted Rohini Acharya as its candidate for the Saran Lok Sabha seat, setting the stage for a high-stakes electoral battle. With voting slated for the fifth phase on May 20th, Saran braces itself for a pivotal moment in its political trajectory, poised between continuity and change.
