Patna: Defence Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh will visit Patna on July 2 to chair the state working committee meeting of the party, in a move seen as a major step in gearing up for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The meeting, to be held at Gyan Bhawan, will be attended by top party leaders, including central ministers, MPs and state ministers from Bihar, as well as BJP’s national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santhosh.
The state BJP leadership confirmed that over 900 party officials and workers are expected to participate in the meeting. “This will be a crucial session to assess preparations and boost grassroots organisation ahead of the elections,” said BJP Bihar president Dr Dilip Jaiswal.
The meeting is also expected to adopt a political resolution commending Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 11 years in office, highlighting achievements of the NDA government and reinforcing the campaign narrative for the state polls. The party claims to have inducted over five million primary members and appointed 1.5 lakh active workers in recent months, expanding its organisational strength across Bihar.
As part of its poll mobilisation strategy, the BJP will hold Vidhan Sabha-level conferences across the state between July 15 and August 14, followed by district-wise workshops on booth management and voter outreach from July 15 to September 15.
Women will play a prominent role in the campaign machinery, with 250 women vistaraks assigned to 125 constituencies. To strengthen on-ground support, migrant BJP workers from Haryana, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh are also expected to join Bihar’s campaign trail starting next month.
