Patna: With an overwhelming rush of devotees traveling for the Kumbh Mela, train services are experiencing severe overcrowding, leaving several reserved ticket holders unable to board. Railway authorities have assured that such passengers will receive a refund, though tax and app charges incurred during booking will not be reimbursed.

On Sunday, multiple trains, including the Magadh Express to Delhi, saw a massive influx of passengers. Many with reserved tickets were unable to board and lodged complaints with railway officials, who confirmed that refunds would be processed upon submission of a simple form. Affected passengers can also seek assistance from the station superintendent.

Railway officials acknowledged the challenge of managing the surge in travelers, particularly those heading to Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela. They noted that once a coach becomes overcrowded, clearing space for reserved passengers is nearly impossible. Despite the difficulties, faith-driven travelers continue to flock to the pilgrimage site in large numbers.
