Retired IAS Officer Manish Kumar Verma Joins JD(U)
Patna: Retired IAS officer Manish Kumar Verma officially joined the Janata Dal (United) at the party’s state office in Patna on Tuesday. The party’s National Executive President and Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Kumar Jha, along with State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha and Bihar Government Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, welcomed Verma by presenting him with the primary membership slip of JD(U).
Jha expressed that Verma’s extensive administrative experience would bolster the party’s organisational strength across Bihar and other states. He confidently predicted that the NDA alliance would secure a decisive victory in the 2025 Bihar assembly elections, surpassing their 2010 performance.
State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha highlighted Verma’s belief in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s policies, principles, and developmental work as the driving force behind his decision to join JD(U). He expressed optimism that Verma’s experience and capabilities would significantly benefit the party.
Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary praised Verma’s resilience and impactful personality, stating that his association with JD(U) would elevate the party’s stature. Chaudhary also acknowledged Verma’s close familiarity with Nitish Kumar’s work and leadership, expressing delight over his induction into the JD(U) family.
Verma, reflecting on his emotional decision to join JD(U), lauded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership and dedication to Bihar’s progress. He commended Nitish for transforming Bihar and ensuring the presence of genuine socialism in the state. Verma pledged to diligently fulfill his responsibilities within the party.
The event saw attendance from several notable figures, including Bihar Minister Jayant Raj, Legislative Councillor Lalan Sarraf, Legislative Councillor Sanjay Kumar Singh (also known as Gandhi Ji), former MP Chandeshwar Chandravanshi, and a host of other politicians and party members.
