Patna: Both the NDA and Mahagathbandhan alliances have announced their candidates for the upcoming assembly by-elections on four seats in Bihar. The RJD will contest three seats, while CPI-ML will field a candidate for one seat as part of the Mahagathbandhan alliance. RJD will run from Imamganj, Belaganj, and Ramgarh, while Tarari is reserved for CPI-ML.

In the NDA camp, the BJP will contest from Tarari and Ramgarh, while the JDU has fielded its candidate for Belaganj. Diya Manjhi, daughter-in-law of Jitan Ram Manjhi, will contest from Imamganj on behalf of Hindustani Awam Morcha.

The RJD candidates include Roshan Kumar Manjhi for Imamganj, Vishwanath Kumar Singh for Belaganj, and Ajit Kumar Singh for Ramgarh. CPI-ML’s Raju Yadav will contest from Tarari. Notably, Ajit Kumar Singh is the son of RJD state president Jagdanand Singh, while Vishwanath Singh is the son of RJD MP Surendra Yadav from Jehanabad.

On the NDA side, Vishal Prashant, son of four-time MLA Sunil Pandey, will contest from Tarari, while the BJP has selected Ashok Kumar Singh for Ramgarh. Singh previously won the seat in 2015 and contested again in 2020. A triangular fight is expected in Ramgarh, with the BSP fielding Satish Singh, nephew of former MLA Ambika Singh.

For Belaganj, JDU has nominated Manorama Devi, a former MLC whose family has recently been in the headlines. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided her residence in connection with alleged Naxalite activities. Her late husband, Bindi Yadav, was previously accused of supplying cartridges to Naxalites.
