Punjab National Bank robbery in Patna

Patna: In a brazen daylight robbery, Rs 22 lakhs were looted from the Punjab National Bank in Koraiya village, Paliganj Dulhin Bazar police station area, on Monday morning. The heist was executed by 3 to 4 masked criminals who entered the bank posing as customers.

Upon entering the bank, the robbers suddenly brandished weapons, taking both bank employees and customers hostage. The hostages were then locked in the bank’s kitchen while the robbers forced the employees to open the locker at gunpoint. After looting Rs 22 lakhs from the locker, the criminals fled the spot on a black Apache bike.

One of the customers Suresh, who was present during the robbery, recounted the terrifying experience: “The criminals pushed us aside at gunpoint and locked us in a room with the bank employees. All of them were wearing masks.”

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajiv Mishra confirmed the incident, stating, “A bank robbery was reported in Dulhin Bazar. Between 10 and 10:30 am, 3 to 4 masked attackers entered the bank. According to the manager, the total amount looted is ₹22 lakhs. The criminals held all the office staff hostage in a corner of the bank.”
