Saharsa-Amritsar Garib Rath Express to Avoid New Delhi Station Under New Route Plan

From mid-August, the Saharsa–Amritsar Garib Rath Express will skip New Delhi station and instead halt at Delhi Junction as part of a revised route announced by Indian Railways.

Hajipur: The Saharsa-Amritsar Garib Rath Express will be rerouted to halt at Delhi Junction (formerly Old Delhi station) instead of New Delhi station from mid-August, according to an official statement issued by the East Central Railway.

Train No. 12204, the Amritsar–Saharsa Garib Rath Express, will follow a revised route from 17 August 2025. The train, departing Amritsar, will now run via Adarsh Nagar Delhi – Delhi – Delhi Shahdara – Sahibabad, bypassing New Delhi and Tilak Bridge. As per the new schedule, it will halt at Delhi Junction at 10:50am, departing at 11:05am.

Conversely, Train No. 12203, the Saharsa–Amritsar Garib Rath Express, will follow the modified route in the reverse direction from 18 August 2025. Departing Saharsa, the train will travel via Sahibabad – Delhi Shahdara – Delhi – Adarsh Nagar Delhi, instead of the earlier route via Tilak Bridge and New Delhi. It will now stop at Delhi Junction at 1:55pm, departing at 2:10pm.
