Patna: Police in Patna have arrested a school clerk following a horrific complaint by a 12-year-old girl who alleges she was repeatedly raped at a blind girls’ school hostel over a two-year period. The deeply disturbing case has emerged in the capital, casting a dark shadow over the institution.
The accused identified as Ajit Kumar, a clerk at the school, was taken into custody after the girl’s parents lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Agamkuan police station three days ago, upon discovering the alleged abuse.
The victim’s family claims that a thorough investigation could reveal further shocking details. The girl had been residing in the school hostel since 2018.
The alleged abuse came to light after the school reopened on June 25 following summer vacation, which began on May 17. When her parents attempted to send her back to the hostel, the girl reportedly refused, showing signs of extreme fear. It was her sister who first confided in the parents, revealing that “Ajit Sir misbehaves with her.” Subsequently, the 12-year-old victim herself disclosed that Ajit had been raping her for the past two years.
Police have confirmed the arrest of Ajit Kumar and are currently investigating the serious allegations.
