Scorching Days Ahead: Rajgir Zoo Safari Will Open from 6 AM to 2 PM to Shield Wildlife and Visitors

Patna : Visitors to Rajgir’s Zoo Safari and Nature Safari will need to set their alarms a little earlier, as opening hours are being revised from Wednesday due to rising temperatures.
From April 24, the safaris will operate from 6am to 2pm, with entry permitted until 12 noon, according to a joint order issued by Rajkumar M, Divisional Forest Officer, and Ram Sundar M, Director of Zoo Safari.
The change comes as Rajgir grapples with an ongoing heatwave. The Bihar Meteorological Service Centre has recorded temperatures reaching 40 degrees C, with forecasts suggesting the mercury may rise further in the coming days. The bulletin warns of above-normal temperatures and potentially severe heat during the afternoon hours, posing health risks to both tourists and wildlife.
Officials have urged visitors to take adequate precautions when visiting the safari parks, including staying hydrated and avoiding peak sun exposure.
Similar timings were introduced during last year’s summer heatwave, as part of efforts to protect both animals and the public from extreme weather conditions.
