Seven Arrested in Muzaffarpur with Liquor Worth Rs 7 Lakh

Seven people, including two liquor smugglers, were arrested in Muzaffarpur with liquor worth Rs 7 lakh seized during a targeted police operation.

Muzaffarpur: Seven people, including two liquor smugglers, were arrested by the Excise Department in Muzaffarpur district as part of an ongoing operation targeting illegal alcohol trade. The police also seized a car and liquor valued at Rs 7 lakh during raids across multiple police station areas.

The raids, based on secret intelligence, took place on Monday night, resulting in the arrests of two smugglers and five individuals found in possession of alcohol. The accused were identified as Naresh Kumar from Motipur police station area, Ganesh Ram from Gayghat, Shivam Kumar, Anil Kumar, and Kishore Patel from Qazi Mohammadpur, Deepak Kumar from Meenapur, and Kumud Kumar from Maniyari police station areas.

Authorities recovered 77 cartons of country-made and foreign liquor from various hideouts. The excise inspector confirmed that raids continue in urban and rural areas to apprehend more smugglers based on information gathered from the arrested individuals.
