
Patna: The Bihar government has announced a major reshuffle in the police force, transferring seven IPS officers to new postings. The Home Department issued an official notification on Monday detailing the appointments, which are expected to strengthen law enforcement across key departments and districts.
Senior officer Rakesh Rathi has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) of the Special Branch, while Jitendra Rana, who was previously awaiting posting, has been named IG of the Central Region. Garima Malik, who held the IG position in the Central Region, will now serve as IG of Surveillance.
In another significant shift, S. Premlatha, previously IG of Surveillance, has been moved to the post of IG, Technical Services.
At the district level, Manoj Kumar Tiwari, who was SP in the Crime Investigation Department (CID), has been transferred as Superintendent of Police (SP) of Siwan. The current SP of Siwan, Amitesh Kumar, will now take charge as SP of the Special Branch.
Additionally, K. Ramdas, Assistant Director at the Bihar Police Academy, has been posted as SP of the Crime Investigation Department.
The reshuffle comes amid efforts by the state government to streamline police operations and improve departmental efficiency across Bihar.
