Shahnawaz Hussain Praises Modi 3.0 Budget: Big Wins for Bihar, Especially Bhagalpur
Patna: The Union Budget 2024-25, presented by the Narendra Modi Government, has allocated substantial funds for Bihar. Bihar, featured prominently in the budget, stands to gain the most, with Bhagalpur receiving the highest allocations within the state, said Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Under the Purvodaya scheme, the budget has provisioned Rs. 26,000 crore for road construction across Bihar. Additionally, approximately Rs. 22,000 crore has been allocated for power projects, including the pivotal Pirpainti power project in Bhagalpur. New airports have also been announced, with Bhagalpur airport expected to be among the beneficiaries. The construction of a road linking Buxar and Bhagalpur is anticipated to further spur regional development.
“The budget includes numerous measures aimed at flood control, irrigation, and tourism promotion in Bihar, including the Kosi-Mechi Inter-State Link and new barrage projects,” Shahnawaz said, noting that land for the Pirpainti power project had already been acquired but was stalled by the previous UPA government. He highlighted that with the new budget provisions, the Pirpainti area will develop similarly to Kahalgaon.
Shahnawaz also pointed out that the state government had previously announced airports in Rajgir and Bhagalpur. With the Union Budget’s confirmation, the construction of these airports, along with others in the state, is now assured. He emphasized that the budget reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to developing India, particularly benefiting villages, the poor, farmers, youth, and women.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has included provisions to empower these groups through employment and self-employment initiatives. The budget emphasizes education, skills, industry, and entrepreneurship, expected to boost employment and contribute to India’s goal of becoming a $5 trillion economy.
Shahnawaz remarked that Bihar was the biggest winner of the budget, with a clear outline for the state’s accelerated growth under the “double engine” government of the NDA. He affirmed that the NDA government is steadfastly advancing Bihar’s progress, with a new development trajectory set under the Modi 3.0 administration.
The Purvodaya Yojana is poised to ensure comprehensive development in Jharkhand, West Bengal, and other states, including Bihar. Shahnawaz asserted that Bihar holds a special place in Prime Minister Modi’s heart, and under his leadership, along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the state will emerge as a cornerstone of the Northeast.
“Industrial and entrepreneurial development in Bihar remains a priority for the NDA government. The establishment of the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor headquarters in Gaya is expected to improve the state’s industrial climate, benefiting numerous Bihari youth and entrepreneurs,” the former Bihar industries minister said.
To boost the tourism industry, the budget includes plans to develop religious sites in Bodh Gaya, Gaya, Rajgir, and Nalanda. Overall, the Modi 3.0 government has bestowed numerous benefits on Bihar, for which the state’s residents are deeply grateful, Shahnawaz concluded.
