Patna: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted at Shastri Nagar police station in Patna was arrested on Wednesday after being caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe to remove a suspect’s name from a criminal case.

According to officials, Ajit Kumar had demanded Rs 50,000 from Noor Jahan, whose son was named in an active police case. In her complaint to the vigilance bureau, she alleged that the officer sought the bribe in exchange for clearing her son’s name from the investigation.
