Patna: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will arrive in Bihar on Saturday for a one-day visit to oversee preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming programme in Madhubani, scheduled for April 24. During his visit, Shivraj will also convene a key strategy meeting with NDA leaders ahead of the forthcoming assembly elections.

According to state BJP president Dr Dilip Jaiswal, Shivraj will travel directly to Patna City from the airport, where he is expected to pay a visit to Takht Shri Harmandir Sahib Gurudwara before heading to the state BJP headquarters. A high-level meeting with NDA MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and party leaders will begin at 11.30am to discuss the logistics and political significance of the PM’s scheduled appearance.

PM Modi is expected to address Panchayati Raj representatives from multiple districts, including Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Muzaffarpur, Madhepura, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Araria, Saharsa, and Supaul. Union Minister for Panchayati Raj Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh, JD(U) national executive president Sanjay Jha, and state presidents of all NDA alliance partners are also expected to attend the preparatory meet.

Following the meeting, Shivraj will interact with Madhubani’s District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police via video conferencing to assess administrative readiness for the Prime Minister’s visit. PM Modi is expected to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate road infrastructure projects worth approximately Rs 4,000 crore during the April 24 event.

This visit is part of a broader campaign strategy, with the Prime Minister likely to visit Bihar once a month in the coming months. He is also expected to be in Patna during the first week of May, possibly on May 4. Additional visits are being planned for June and July, during which the Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate Central government schemes across various districts.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Bihar on April 30 for a two-day tour. BJP has ramped up preparations for Shah’s visit, which is seen as part of the party’s efforts to energise its cadre ahead of the upcoming elections.
