Sitamarhi Police Crack Horrific Gang Rape and Murder Case Within 24 Hours

Sitamarhi: In a swift and decisive operation, the Sitamarhi Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) solved a gruesome case of gang rape and murder of a minor girl in Chatgouda village, under the Nanpur police station jurisdiction, on Saturday. Within 24 hours, the SIT arrested five youths responsible for the heinous crime through a meticulous technical investigation.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Satyam Kumar, son of Devendra Rai; Ranveer Kumar, son of Santoshi Rai; Harshvardhan Kumar, son of Jayanandan Prasad Yadav; Ajit Kumar, son of Nageshwar Rai; and Ravi Kumar, son of Roshan Yadav, all residents of Chatgouda village.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Ranjan, the victim had visited a relative’s house and gone to a garden to pluck mangoes around 6.30 pm. The accused allegedly threw her down from a tree, after which they gang-raped her. The perpetrators further subjected the victim to extreme brutality, burning her body with cigarettes and pouring mango stalk juice into her eyes, causing severe damage. When the victim screamed, she was strangled to death. The accused then dragged her body and hung it from a peepal tree near an abandoned house to stage the scene.

Following the incident, the police employed technical and forensic methods to apprehend the culprits. All five accused confessed to the crime during interrogation. The post-mortem report confirmed gang rape and evidence of extreme violence on the victim’s body. The police plan to conduct DNA tests on the accused to strengthen the case. A charge sheet will be filed soon, and the case is set for a speedy trial.
SP Amit Ranjan commended the SIT for their exceptional work in resolving the case within 24 hours and announced that the team would be honored for their efficiency.
