Six-Day Faculty Development Programme Launched at Patna Women’s College
Patna: A six-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Seeking New Horizons: Moving Ahead Towards Excellence” was inaugurated on July 1, 2024, at Carmel Hall, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous). The event, organized by the Apostolic Carmel Generalate, Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Patna Women’s College, will run until July 6, 2024.
The inaugural session commenced with a reflective prayer service led by Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Head of the Department of Home Science. This was followed by a welcome address from the Principal, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., who provided an overview of the college and its various developmental programs for teachers and students. She also honored the distinguished resource persons: Sister Pearl Ann A.C., former Principal of Mount Carmel School, Bandra, Mumbai, and former Provincial Counsellor, Apostolic Carmel, Western Province, Mumbai, and Dr. Sister M. Ancilla A.C., Counsellor for Education, Apostolic Carmel Generalate, and former Principal of Providence Women’s College (Autonomous), Calicut, Kerala.
On the first day of the FDP, Sister Pearl Ann A.C. led a session titled “A True Teacher,” focusing on the virtues of an effective educator. Her session included engaging exercises aimed at fostering self-awareness and understanding of others. The session was moderated by Ms. Poonam A. Lakra, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The programme saw the participation of over 160 teachers from the college.
