Jamui: A couple on route to an exam centre in  Jamui district narrowly escaped harm after discovering a snake inside their car. The incident occurred on June 25, as the woman was heading to Eklavya College to appear for her BA Part-3 examination.
The couple, residents of Satgama village, were travelling in a Scorpio when the woman felt something crawl near her neck and heard a faint hissing noise. Upon turning, she saw a snake coiled on the seat next to her. In a moment of panic, her husband slammed the brakes, and both managed to escape by quickly jumping out of the vehicle near the Mahisaudi area.
Eyewitnesses, including local shopkeepers and passersby, gathered at the scene, astonished by the couple’s narrow escape. The husband later called a local snake charmer to locate the reptile, but despite several attempts, the snake could not be found. However, a snake’s skin recovered from the vehicle confirmed its presence.
No injuries were reported, but the vehicle remains off-road until the snake is safely removed. The couple, though visibly shaken, continued their journey to the exam centre after ensuring safety.
