Social Media Stunt Sparks Chaos in Kishanganj: Boys Climb Bank Roof with Fake Weapons
Kishanganj: A scene of chaos unfolded at Gandhi Chowk, the heart of Kishanganj city, when eight boys were spotted on the roof of a bank building brandishing what appeared to be weapons. A concerned citizen, believing the group was planning a robbery, alerted the police. The incident occurred around 4 PM on Friday, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
Upon arrival, the police, led by Sadar Police Station Head Sandeep Kumar, apprehended the eight minors, aged between 14 and 16. It was later revealed that the boys had climbed to the roof to create social media reels, using fake pistols and lighters, which sparked fear among onlookers. The police searched the area and found the boys in a suspicious condition, recovering a fake pistol designed to look like a lighter.
Kishanganj Superintendent of Police Sagar Kumar stated that the situation was resolved after thorough questioning, noting that the boys had no intention of committing a crime.
The police action lasted about an hour, during which a crowd gathered to witness the unfolding drama, heightened by the proximity of other establishments, including Punjab National Bank and State Bank of India.
