Son of Retired DSP Dies by Suicide in Patna After Family Disputes Over Money

Patna: The son of retired DSP Arun Kumar Chaudhary allegedly died by suicide late on Friday night by shooting himself. Neeraj Kumar (40) lived with his family at Kaushalya Apartment in the Kotwali police station area.
According to reports, Neeraj’s body was found on the bed inside his flat, with blood oozing from his head. Bloodstains were also found on the mattress and bedding.
It is reported that Neeraj was addicted to alcohol. He would often get into heated arguments with family members over his drinking habits.
Late on Friday night, he allegedly shot himself with a country-made pistol. A suicide note was also recovered from the scene by the police.
Had Frequent Fights with Family Over Money
Kotwali Police Station in-charge Rajan Kumar stated that the matter came to light late at night. The body has been sent to PMCH for post-mortem. According to preliminary information provided by the family, Neeraj was unemployed and used to frequently quarrel with family members over financial matters, often displaying abusive behaviour.
His wife was reportedly managing household expenses by teaching in a private school.
The police have initiated a detailed investigation into the case.
