St. Karen’s High School Hosts Engaging ‘Turncoat Debate’ Unveiling Student Perspectives on Curriculum Creation
Patna: In a riveting display of eloquence and intellect, St. Karen’s High School (SKHS), Danapur orchestrated a thought-provoking ‘Turncoat Debate’ contest exclusively for Class 9 students. The event unfolded in the Pamela Hall within the school premises on Thursday.
The motion for the day, “It is appropriate to allow students to create their own curriculum,” set the stage for an impassioned exchange of ideas among the participating 12 students. The event was graced by the discerning judgment of Sweta Gupta and Shahnawaz Hussain, both esteemed faculty members specializing in English at SKHS.
Seema Singh, the principal of SKHS, and vice-principal Sanjay Joseph commended the participants for their outstanding performance, offering words of encouragement and blessings for their promising futures.
The coveted first position was clinched by Apurva from Class 9-F, showcasing exceptional rhetorical skills and a profound understanding of the debate’s theme. Securing the second position was Kushagra Shahi from Class 9-E, closely followed by Aagya of Class 9-A. Awtarit Avi from Class 9-E secured the third position, adding to the vibrancy of the competition. Abhinav Singh from Class 9-A was honored as the most promising speaker, further elevating the prestige of the event.
The seamless execution of the debate owed much to the adept compering skills of Yash Raj from Class 9-B and Shristy Chandra from Class 9-D. English teacher Debleena Mukherjee played a pivotal role in coordinating the entire program, ensuring its success.
The ‘Turncoat Debate’ not only served as a platform for students to articulate their views but also highlighted the school’s commitment to fostering critical thinking and communication skills.
