St. Xavier’s College, Patna Partners With DataLEADS to Launch Media Literacy Programme

Patna: St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology in Patna has partnered with DataLEADS, with support from the Google News Initiative, to introduce a media literacy programme aimed at equipping students and the wider community with the skills to critically engage with digital information.

As part of the initiative, DataLEADS has developed a specialised curriculum that will be formally introduced as a course on media literacy at the college. The programme is designed to enhance digital awareness, critical thinking, and responsible information consumption—skills that have become essential in the fight against misinformation and fake news.

Students will participate in interactive workshops, expert-led discussions, and community outreach activities to gain practical experience in fact-checking, identifying misinformation, and evaluating media content. The initiative seeks to empower individuals with the tools needed to navigate today’s complex digital landscape.
