Patna: The grand State-Level Youth Festival 2024 kicked off at Gandhi Maidan in Lakhisarai, with an atmosphere filled with vibrant energy and creativity. The festival was inaugurated by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan, alias Lallan Singh, and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, who symbolically offered water to a Peepal tree to mark the occasion. The event was formally launched with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp, attended by Transport Minister Sheela Kumari Mandal, MLA Prahlad Yadav, Art and Culture Department Director Ruby, Special Secretary Seema Tripathi, District Magistrate Mithilesh Mishra, Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar, and Deputy Development Commissioner Kundan Kumar.

The three-day festival has drawn 1,499 participants from 38 districts of Bihar, alongside thousands of spectators, including students, teachers, parents, and local dignitaries. The festival was further enhanced by a grand stage, colourful stalls, and a lush green setting. The program commenced with the chanting of Mangal Mantra and the sound of a conch, followed by a welcoming song performed by students of Vidyapeeth Lakhisarai. The event was hosted by folk artist Soma Chakraborty, with Sheela Kumari Mandal presiding over the stage.

In his address, Union Minister Lallan Singh expressed his intent to request the Prime Minister to host the National Youth Festival in Patna, highlighting the visible progress in Bihar and the state’s development. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha emphasised the significance of such festivals in inspiring youth, affirming that Bihar, the land of Chanakya and Mother Ganga’s blessings, is on an unstoppable path of progress under the double-engine government. He also praised the state’s efforts to empower women.

Transport Minister Sheela Kumari Mandal commended the event’s organization and assured her participation over the next two days. After the speeches, Deputy Chief Minister Sinha visited the departmental stalls, lauding the arrangements. District Magistrate Mithilesh Mishra honoured the guests with clothes and plants, adding a special touch to the festival.

The State-Level Youth Festival 2024 continues to symbolise Bihar’s vibrant youth energy and the state’s commitment to fostering creativity and progress.
