Strict Security Measures in Patna for Chaiti Chhath Mahaparva from April 1st to 4th

Patna : Authorities in Patna have announced stringent security and monitoring measures for the upcoming Chaiti Chhath Mahaparva, which will be observed from April 1st to 4th this year. To ensure the safety of devotees and prevent any untoward incidents, the district administration has imposed a complete ban on the operation of private boats on river ghats from the morning of April 1st until the conclusion of the event on April 4th. Strict punitive action will be taken against those who violate the directive.

Drone Surveillance and Deployment of Security Forces

Drone surveillance will be conducted on April 1st to monitor the ghats, and all sub-divisional officers, sub-divisional police officers, and circle officers have been instructed to ensure strict compliance. The ghats in various sub-divisions have been divided into several sectors, with eight State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams deployed, equipped with divers, jawans, and two motor boats per team, along with other necessary resources.

Circle officers have also been directed to provide essential safety equipment such as life jackets and ensure the availability of water bottles at the ghats and ponds in their respective areas.

Detailed Safety Plan and Emergency Response

The District Magistrate of Patna has instructed the deployment of magistrates and police officers according to established norms. Additionally, SDRF and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, along with divers, will remain on high alert at the ghats to ensure smooth conduct of the rituals. River patrolling will be intensified, while medical teams, Gram Raksha Dal, and Civil Security volunteers will be stationed to handle any emergencies. CCTV cameras will also be installed to enhance surveillance.

Registered boats, along with trained sailors and divers, will be kept operational with large nets and other required resources to manage any potential incidents. The district police will remain available around the clock to respond to emergencies.

Chaiti Chhath Schedule

The Chaiti Chhath rituals will commence with Nahai-Khai on 2nd April, followed by Kharna on the same day. The evening Arghya will be offered on April 3rd, while the morning Arghya will mark the conclusion of the festival on April 4th.
