Muzaffarpur/Patna: In a significant boost to Bihar’s growing IT landscape, Superseva Global Services will establish a software development unit in Muzaffarpur’s Bela Industrial Area, marking the first major IT investment outside Patna. The foundation stone for the project was laid on Saturday by Bihar’s Information Technology Minister Krishna Kumar Mantu.
Superseva, which develops software for global clients including Adobe, IBM, Microsoft and Wipro, will begin operations within a year. The company is currently investing Rs 8 crore, with plans to scale this up to Rs 20–25 crore over the next five years. The unit is expected to generate employment for over 100 people.
This development follows similar recent initiatives in Bihta Industrial Area, Patna, where the minister laid the foundation stones for units by Benchmark IT Solution and Lexa Company. Superseva’s Muzaffarpur project is the first such initiative in the state’s industrial zones outside the capital region.
“The environment in Bihar is changing. The state is quickly establishing itself as an emerging IT hub. This project is a strong step towards the chief minister’s promise of creating jobs for Bihar’s youth within the state,” said Mantu during the ceremony.
Superseva currently operates in 16 Indian cities and has a presence in the UK and US. Its clients span across industries and include major corporations such as Barclays, DLF, IHCL, P&G and Optum.
Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, Special Secretary, Information Technology Department, said that the state government is offering land at subsidised rates along with a host of financial incentives under the Bihar IT Policy 2024. These include capital investment incentives, lease rental subsidies, energy bill reimbursements and employment generation subsidies. Notably, a new provision for reimbursement of State GST was added earlier this year.
Additionally, to encourage investment beyond Patna and Danapur, the policy offers a 10% extra incentive across all heads for projects established outside these municipal areas — a benefit Superseva’s Muzaffarpur unit will receive.
Kumud Sharma, CEO of Superseva Global Services, confirmed that the Muzaffarpur unit will be operational within the next 12 months. She emphasised the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint in Bihar and creating sustainable employment in the region. Managing Director Ajay Shankar Sharma and other senior officials were also present at the event.
