Sushil Kumar Modi Criticizes Nitish Kumar’s Ambitions Amidst INDIA Alliance Discontent
Patna: Patna witnessed political upheaval as former Deputy Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi voiced scathing criticism against Nitish Kumar, alleging that the Bihar Chief Minister had severed ties with the BJP for the second time in 2022, harboring aspirations of becoming the Prime Minister.
Modi, in a statement, revealed that Nitish had attended a crucial Delhi meeting of the alliance with high expectations after garnering support through posters in Patna. However, to his dismay, no one proposed his name for the coveted position of coordinator, let alone considering him for the prime ministerial candidacy.
Highlighting the perceived failure of Nitish’s political maneuvering, Modi commented, “Nitish Kumar neither got Maya nor Ram. When they return to Patna empty-handed, it will be difficult for JD (U) to maintain the morale of the workers. There may be a stampede in the party.”
Modi went on to criticize the Indie Coalition, asserting that the alliance had squandered a year without making any decisive moves. Although leaders like Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal suggested Mallikarjun Kharge’s name for the coordinator position, their proposal was not accepted.
According to Modi, Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal’s reluctance to support Nitish Kumar’s leadership is evident in their stance, signaling a lack of consensus within the alliance’s major parties.
Despite the hopes pinned on the fourth meeting of the alliance, Modi noted that it failed to yield any significant decisions. Notably, Hemant Soren did not attend the meeting, adding another layer of complexity to the alliance’s internal dynamics. The brewing discontent and political tensions raise questions about the future trajectory of the coalition and its ability to present a united front in upcoming political endeavors.
