Tanishq Showroom Heist: Two Suspects Shot and Arrested After Police Encounter

Ara/ Patna: Two suspects were arrested after a gunfight with police following a daring daylight robbery at the Tanishq showroom in Ara. The suspects, both from Saran district, sustained bullet injuries to their legs during the encounter near Babura on the Ara-Chapra border and are currently undergoing treatment. Some of the looted jewelry and cash have been recovered, while police continue their search for the remaining members of the gang.

The robbery, which took place in broad daylight, saw a group of seven armed men storm the showroom, posing as customers before brandishing weapons. The assailants looted gold, silver, diamonds, and cash worth an estimated Rs 25 crore. In the process, a salesman and a security guard were assaulted, and the guard’s double-barreled gun was seized at gunpoint. The entire heist was captured on CCTV.

According to police, the arrested suspects hail from Sonpur and Dighwara areas of Saran district. Officers intercepted the gang as they attempted to escape with three bags filled with stolen jewelry, two of which were recovered. Initial investigations indicate that while one of the robbers had his face covered, the rest carried out the heist without any disguise.

Authorities have intensified efforts to track down the remaining suspects, analyzing CCTV footage and gathering intelligence to dismantle the gang behind one of the biggest robberies in the region in recent times.
