Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, recently expelled from both the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and his family by his father Lalu Prasad Yadav, has publicly endorsed a social media post by his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, criticizing the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s performance in Bihar. This unexpected move has sparked speculation about a potential thaw in the strained relations within the influential political family.
On Friday, Tejashwi Yadav posted on X (formerly Twitter), accusing the NDA of failing to address key issues such as unemployment, poverty, and migration in Bihar over the past two decades. He highlighted the state’s poor rankings in education, healthcare, and industrial development, as reported by NITI Aayog, and criticized the central government’s repeated inaugurations of longstanding projects without tangible progress.
Tej Pratap Yadav retweeted his brother’s post, adding his own commentary that echoed the criticisms. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making ceremonial visits to Bihar during election years, re-announcing projects initiated in 2015 without delivering substantive development. “This is Bihar; Biharis are not swayed by such tactics,” he wrote, challenging the Prime Minister’s credibility.
The public alignment between the Yadav brothers comes shortly after Tej Pratap’s expulsion from the RJD and his family, following a controversial social media post about a long-term relationship with a woman named Anushka Yadav. The post led to widespread criticism and internal party discontent, prompting Lalu Prasad Yadav to take disciplinary action against his elder son.Tej Pratap’s recent support for Tejashwi’s political stance has led observers to question whether the familial rift is beginning to heal.
