Tej Pratap’s ‘Scooter Raj’: Helmetless Holi Hunt for ‘Paltu Chacha’ Sparks Political Row

Patna: In a Holi celebration that veered off the beaten path, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav added a dash of drama to the festival’s hues. He embarked on a scooty escapade through Patna, helmet notably absent, in search of his ‘Paltu Chacha’—a moniker he uses for Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Clad in vibrant colours, Tej Pratap’s two-wheeled journey wasn’t a solo act. A cavalcade of supporters, equally drenched in festive spirit and equally helmet-less, trailed behind on motorcycles. As they cruised past the Chief Minister’s residence, Tej Pratap’s voice cut through the revelry: “Kahan hain Paltu Chacha?” (Where is Paltu Chacha?).

The procession, however, hit a bump in the road of public opinion. Critics were quick to point out the blatant traffic violations—riding without helmets and triple riding—captured in the viral video. BJP spokesperson Kuntal Krishna didn’t miss a beat, remarking that Tej Pratap’s antics were in line with the RJD’s traditional disregard for law and order.

This isn’t Tej Pratap’s first rodeo with controversy. Earlier in the day, he was caught on camera instructing an on-duty policeman to dance during the Holi festivities at his residence, adding another layer to the unfolding political drama.
