Tejashwi Yadav Confronts Nitish Kumar in Fiery Bihar Assembly Speech
Patna: In a charged session at the Bihar legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, the de facto leader of the RJD and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, delivered a powerful address during the floor test of the NDA government on Monday.
Throughout his speech, Tejashwi took aim at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s political maneuvers, highlighting what he termed as Nitish’s penchant for shifting allegiances. Tejashwi also presented a comprehensive overview of his tenure, acknowledging Nitish’s role in forming the government for a record ninth time but emphasizing the unique circumstances surrounding this term.
“You (Nitish) came with us to unite the opposition across the country and stop the dictator. You used to say that you did not feel like being with us. So should we dance and sing to please you?” Tejashwi quipped.
Tejashwi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Deputy Chief Minister and acknowledged the historical significance of certain appointments within the government. He also underscored the importance of ideological consistency and firm principles in governance.
During his address, Tejashwi drew parallels between the political landscape and the epic tale of Ramayana, subtly referencing Nitish’s decisions and their consequences. He questioned Nitish’s motives behind the abrupt alliance changes and called attention to promises made during electoral campaigns.
Tejashwi’s speech resonated with emotive appeals, recalling the legacy of leaders such as Karpoori Thakur and challenging the government’s sincerity in addressing issues such as caste census and reservation policies.
Asserting his party’s commitment to principles and ideological clarity, Tejashwi expressed confidence in navigating the political landscape and reiterated the importance of stability for Bihar’s progress.
In a moment of candid criticism, Tejashwi addressed concerns over NItish’s health and urged for genuine care. “Manjhi ji was presenting his views in the last session. He said that the Chief Minister was being given wrong medicines and his brain was being hijacked. Now that he has come with you, get him treated properly. Otherwise, start living next to the Chief Minister’s residence. If you are really concerned then do so. There is nothing bad in this,” Tejashwi quipped.
