Tejashwi Yadav’s 34th Birthday Celebrations and Reservation Hike Bill Coincide in Bihar
Patna: Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and de- facto leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), is marking his 34th birthday in a celebratory atmosphere as political leaders from across the spectrum extend their warm wishes. This celebration coincides with a crucial legislative proposal in the Bihar State Legislature aimed at increasing the state’s reservation quota to 65%.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was among the prominent figures who conveyed their birthday greetings to Tejashwi. In a social media post on Thursday, CM Nitish Kumar expressed his well-wishes, saying, “Hearty wishes to Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on his birthday. I wish you a healthy and long life.”
The birthday festivities commenced with a midnight celebration at the family residence on Circular Road, which is the home of Tejashwi’s mother and former Bihar Chief Minister, Rabri Devi. Present at the celebration were Tejashwi, Rabri, Tejashwi’s father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad, Tejashwi’s wife Rajshree, his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav, and his eldest sister Misa Bharti. The occasion was marked by the cutting of a birthday cake.
Furthermore, the RJD’s state headquarters at Beer Chand Patel Path is set to host grand celebrations in honor of Tejashwi’s birthday. The party office has been adorned with vibrant floral decorations and balloons in preparation for the event. The celebration will be presided over by the RJD’s state president, Jagdanand Singh. RJD spokesperson Ajaz Ahmed said that, in commemoration of the Deputy Chief Minister’s 34th birthday, a sizable 34-pound cake will be cut during the event.
Incidentally, Tejashwi’s birthday aligns with a significant legislative proposal currently being tabled in the Bihar State Legislature. The proposal seeks to raise the reservation quota in the state to 65%, a move that, when combined with the Central government’s 10% reservation for economically weaker sections, would increase the total reservation to 75%.
As the Deputy Chief Minister celebrates his birthday, the political landscape in Bihar remains dynamic, with important matters of governance and policy on the agenda.
